As early as photography was invented, the pioneers of its artistic expression, Henry Fox Talbot and Gustave Le Gray, promoted the idea that photography was a subjective medium which expressed a personal outlook on life. It was clear from the outset, practically from the first daguerreotypes, that the emulsion contained a high emotional and expressive potential. Starting from this premise – that photography is a highly subjective medium – we arrive at the conclusion that this medium is a projection of the inner essence through the exterior that surrounds it.
